DIY Homemade soap recipe step by step

The type of soap to use is a natural Castile (olive oil), or other vegetable oil base soap. It is great handmade present for everybody to birthday, Christmas, or other celebrations.

Soap ingredients of homemade soap

• 50g fine oatmeal
• Muslin
• 50g grated olive oil soap or other natural soap e.g. Coconut oil soap
• 50g dried lavender

Variations of DIY Homemade Soap recipe

• You can use other herbs and flowers like
• Orange peel
• Lemon peel
• Herbs (ginger, turmeric, cinnamon) – only small amount (a pinch)
• Ground flower petals and buds (rose, lavender, hibiscus, calendula)
• Exotic blend of your own
• 1 drops of your favorite essential oil – use only pure essential oil

How to make this Oat & Castile Homemade Soap

1. Grate the soap
2. Next, grind the lavender (or other variation of herbs and flowers) using the coffee grinder
3. Mix up all three ingredients in the bowl
4. Cur a circle of muslin about the size of a large saucer
5. Place a heap of mixture in the middle
6. Gather the muslin together like a little sack containing the blend
7. Tie it up tightly with the string of raffia
8. Finally, store the ready-made bags in a large glass jar

How to use this homemade soap mix

• Use in the shower or bath: soak the little bag under the warm water
• It should start to feel squishy and soapy
• Use the bag like a bar of soap
• The muslin will exfoliate while the oats soothe and the soap cleans
• So, use yourself, make as a present and soap gifts or you will create some handmade soap for sale 🙂
